The Pregnancy Help Center of Lufkin is not an adoption agency. However, we completely support this as a positive option for you and your baby. Adoption is a selfless choice that takes a lot of courage and a big heart. Adoption can be a fresh start for everyone. Women who choose adoption love their babies and want them to have loving homes and bright futures. It takes a lot of courage and a big heart. Adoption is your chance to be a hero.
When considering adoption, it is common and expected for women and men to ask a lot of questions. Below are few of the most commonly asked questions about adoption.
- How can adoption be good for my baby and me?
- How much contact can I have with my baby after birth and after adoption?
- Can my child find me if he or she wants to search someday?
- How can I be sure my child will be well cared for?
- Do I need an attorney or do I pay my agency to assist me with the adoption?
These questions can be answered by speaking with one of our mentors or by reading the enclosed booklet 10 Questions Most Birthmothers Ask About Adoption, Bethany Christian Services 2003.
While the Pregnancy Help Center can not assist you in making an actual adoption, our mentors can walk you through the initial investigative process to find out if adoption is right for you. We work closely with several adoption agencies but encourage you to find the one that best meets your personal needs.
Below is a listing of some of the agencies for you to consider. Please take the time to contact each of these agencies and ask a lot of questions before making a decision on Adoption.
